A Nursing Superintendent typically plays a critical role in healthcare-related projects, particularly in settings where nursing expertise is required to manage patient care, ensure compliance with healthcare protocols, or assist in research and development projects. - Participates in the formulation of the philosophy of the hospital in general and those specific to the Nursing service.
- Determines goals, aims, objectives and policies of the Nursing Services.
- Implements hospital policies and rules through various nursing units.
- Decides and recommends personnel and material requirement for running.
- Various nursing service departments of the hospital.
- Participates in Interviews and recruits nursing staff at local level.
- Ensures the safe and efficient care rendered in the various nursing departments of the hospital by allocation of suitable nursing personnel.
- Plan and put-up proposals to the authorities for increase of staff in different categories so as to fulfill the l.N.C. / M.C.I. recommendations.
- Interpreting and implementing policies of the governing body, the hospital and the Indian nursing council.
