About
The Goa Nursing Council was developed after sustained efforts by nursing professionals in the year 2012 and who worked as a committee. The Goa Nursing Council Act, 2012 (Goa Act 23 of 2012), which has been passed by the Legislative Assembly of Goa on 8-8-2012 and assented to by the Governor of Goa on 26-9-2012, and published in Government of Goa official gazette, extraordinary no.2 on 3rd October 2012, series I No.26.

- To enable the nurses to provide care to the patients by safe practices
Vision
- To provide data base of available practicing nurses in the state
- To improve standards of health care in the state
Functions of Council
- Administration of Goa Nursing Council,
- Registration of Nursing Personnel Working in Goa.
- Collection of statistical data of Registered Nursing personnel, in the state.
- Verification of nursing personnel in & outside India.
- NOC for migration of nursing personnel within country.
- Conduct of Inspection and affiliation for the Nursing Institutions in Goa.
- Organization of examination for Auxiliary Nurse Midwife.
- Conduct of meeting of the council with executive members, council members, registration members & exam board members.
- Conduct of educational program and attending training programs. Maintenance of Accounts of the Council.
- Attending Public for queries and service as required.
- Maintaining Records of the council.
