Job Responsibility of the post:

• Officiate in the absence of Nursing Superintendent.
• Participate in the formulation of Nursing Services, philosophies, objectives and SOPs.
• Assist in the recruitment of Nursing Staff.
• Help in allocating Nursing personnel to various Nursing Services Departments.
• Keep records and reports of the Nursing Services.Assist in planning and organizing the new units in the hospital.Maintain confidential reports & reports of the Nursing Staff.Take regular hospitals rounds.
• Supervise care given in various departments Participate as a Member of several hospital committees, e.g. Infection Control Committee, Pharmacy & therapeutics, Purchase committee Medical Executive Committee.
• Interpret the policies & procedures of the hospital care to sub ordinate staff and others.
• Acts a liaison officer between the Nursing Superintendent and the Nursing staff of the hospital.
• Attend to emergency calls in rotation concerning hospital problems.
• Audit Code Blue (Actual & Mock drill).
• Review medication errors/adverse reaction/sentinel events.
• Review outcome measures in the hospital.
• Escort Medical Superintendent, Nursing Superintendent, and special visitors for hospital rounds.
• Arrange and participates in professional and social functions of the staff and students.
• Maintain good public relations.
• Carrie out other duties assigned by the Nursing Superintendent and Medical superintendent.
